Criminal Behaviour Order issued for woman's prolific offending in the Spalding area |
||
|
A woman has been served a Criminal Behaviour Order for prolific offending in the Spalding area. Sarah McCourt, 44, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour and to shop theft when she appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on 5 May 2026. This order will last for two years. The order prohibits her from entering any retail premises in Spalding, other than Heron Food Spalding. She was also handed a rehabilitation activity requirement, which means the offender must participate in specified rehabilitation activity for a specified period of time. Sergeant Callum Corder of Spalding Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We recognise the impact of repeat shop theft on retail staff and our wider community. Our strategic use of Criminal Behaviour Orders helps tackle persistent offending in the longer term, as the subsequent sentencing associated with breaches of these orders increases substantially. Our aim is to always to ensure offenders are offered rehabilitative support alongside community orders to help curb offending. However, any breach of these orders is treated with zero tolerance and we will take swift and firm action in response to any known breaches.", TO VIEW THE IMAGE PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK TO OUR WEBSITE.
