Proactive Policing - Wembley Hill

While returning to Wembley, PCSO Baker encountered a domestic incident unfolding on a fast‑moving road. A male passenger had forcibly taken the vehicle keys from his wife, leaving the car stationary in the middle lane and placing those involved, and other road users, in immediate danger. The male was highly intoxicated, aggressive, and argumentative, while the female driver was extremely distressed. PCSO Baker acted swiftly and professionally to de‑escalate the situation. He successfully calmed the male, recovered the vehicle keys, and enabled the car to be safely moved into a lay‑by. He also ensured the male was removed from the carriageway to a place of safety, while maintaining constant communication with control and coordinating the attendance of additional units. Thanks to his decisive actions, supported by team colleagues and a traffic unit, the incident was resolved safely and professionally.

PCSO Baker continues to demonstrate a proactive and determined approach to neighbourhood policing. He has seized five illegal e‑bikes in an afternoon, each capable of speeds between 45–51 km/h, all being ridden in an antisocial manner. These bikes were removed from the streets to safeguard pedestrians and other road users.

In a separate incident, PCSO Baker was flagged down by a business manager after a male was observed shoplifting. This led to a lengthy foot chase around Wembley, during which PCSO Baker displayed real persistence and commitment by successfully catching and detaining the suspect for shoplifting.

He has also taken firm action against antisocial behaviour, issuing warnings for street drinking and nuisance behaviour, a Community Protection Warning for aggressive begging, and a Community Protection Notice where continued behaviour was causing obstruction and disruption to residents.

Further successes include the arrest of three wanted robbery suspects on Ealing Road, Wembley, by team colleagues, with investigations currently ongoing.
