Dear Resident
A man has pleaded guilty to burgling a church in #HemelHempstead. Richard Normoyle, aged 55, appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday (1 May) where he admitted to breaking into the Alexandra Road Congregational Church on 4 October last year. He gained entry by smashing a stained-glass window, causing damage worth thousands of pounds, and stole cash from a collection box. Following an investigation by DC Jake Smith from the Criminal Investigation Department, Normolye, of St John’s Street in Bedford, was identified as the suspect before being arrested and charged in November. He initially pleaded not guilty before changing his plea on the day of his trial. He will appear before Luton Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Monday 29 June.
