Theft from Motor Vehicle on Watford Fields Road, Between the Watford Fields Rec, WATFORD

Dear Resident

On Monday 04/05/2026 between 17.00 hrs and overnight a theft occurred from a Black VW Golf which was parked in Watford Fields Road, Between the Watford Fields Recreation ground.

Suspects have entered the vehicle by unknown means, a messy search has ben conducted and several items including a mobile phone, laptop, headphones and cash have been taken.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers and steering wheel locks.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
