Attempted vehicle theft - Can you help? |
||
|
In the early hours of this morning, Sun 3 May, at 0139hrs in Campden Road, Ickenham, two thieves attempted to steal a BMW off the driveway of a property (odd-numbered side, to the south of the sharp bend near the alleyway that leads through to Vinlake Ave). They returned again at 0315hrs, but were defeated when they realised that the vehicle was in fact fitted with a physical steering wheel lock. The incident is currently being reported online to the Metropolitan Police. Action required please: Can residents in the vicinity including all potential vehicle routes/junctions to and from that location please check CCTV, video doorbells etc. for any pedestrian and/or vehicle movements at both of the above times. Reports initially to your local NHW team please at ickenhamnhw@gmail.com who are liaising closely with the police on this incident. Across your Ward: We circulate messages of this nature across the whole Ward so that all residents are aware of crimes on the Ward - for this incident, were the thieves perhaps active in Harefield or other parts of Ickenham this morning? It is often the case that criminals slip up at other locations nearby on the same night, so if you don't live near the above location you may still be able to help if your CCTV system has captured something suspicious. Crime prevention: Simple! Please fit a physical steering lock of a good quality. As a starting point choose one that is Thatcham approved. Crime prevention really does work. | ||
