Cannabis Cultivation Uncovered |
||
|
After working closely with members of the public and through intelligence‑led policing, the local beat officer carried out a number of enquiries in the Washford Farm area. These enquiries led to the discovery of a cannabis cultivation operation, which had taken over an entire four‑bedroom residential property – certainly not the kind of “home improvement project” any neighbourhood wants. This is one of several uncovered in the South Ashford area of recent weeks. This result demonstrates just how important intelligence and information from the community can be along with working with us as local officers. An investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible. Tackling the production and supply of drugs remains a priority for the police, as drug activity is often linked to wider criminality, exploitation, and harm within our communities. Removing these operations helps keep neighbourhoods safer and protects vulnerable people. We would encourage residents to continue reporting any suspicious circumstances, no matter how minor they may seem. This includes properties with unusual or occasional comings and goings, blinds or curtains always kept closed, strong or unusual smells, or houses that appear occupied but are rarely seen in use. If something looks out of place – and it definitely shouldn’t look like a house is trying to grow more plants than a garden centre – please let us know. Trust your instincts and report concerns to police. Your information really does make a difference and plays a vital role in helping us tackle drugs and keep our community safe.
