Man, 27, arrested on suspicion of drug and driving offences in New Milton

On Saturday (25 April), officers from New Milton Neighbourhood Policing Team and the District Policing Team (B shift) combined to arrest a Dorset man on suspicion of several offences.

At approximately 2pm, having earlier received information to suggest a car was being driven without insurance in the town, the vehicle was located and stopped at the Sainsbury’s car park on Lyndhurst Road.

Following a search of the vehicle and driver, under S.23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, a 27-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of;

• Acquiring/using/possessing criminal property

• Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A

• Driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit

In addition to the arrest, suspected Class A drugs and a large quantity of cash were seized. The vehicle was also seized under S.165 of the Road Traffic Act.

The man has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries. We’ll endeavour to keep you all updated as to the progress of our investigation.
