Arrest for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

On Tuesday 28th April, Belsize Safer Neighbourhood officers were returning to the police station at the end of their shift.  While walking along Belsize Lane, they observed a male loitering in the vicinity of the Tavistock Centre.

PC Shan Iqbal and PC Jim Thompson were aware of previous reports of drug dealing in the area and due to the male’s suspicious behaviour, engaged him in conversation and formed grounds to conduct a search of the male.

During the search, officers located a cannabis joint, Class A drugs and over £700 in cash.  The male was arrested for possession of a Class B drug and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

The male was conveyed to custody, where a more thorough search was conducted, resulting in the recovery of further Class A drugs.

The male was interviewed and has been bailed pending further investigation.
