Good afternoon, We are pleased to share some positive progress in Lancaster City Centre. Over recent months, officers have been working to address concerns around street drinkers and its impact on the community. Through a combination of high visibility patrols, engagements, and enforcement we have seen a noticeable reduction in alcohol related anti social behaviour - with great feedback from the public and businesses around the issues that stem from street drinkers that congregate in areas of the city. A key part of this approach has been the use of Community Protection Warnings and Notices - these tools allow us to intervene early, set clear expectations, and take further action where individuals continue to cause nuisances or distress. Our priority is to ensure the City Centre remains a safe, welcoming place and we will be continuing to take a balanced approach, supporting those who need help, while taking firm action where behaviour is not tolerated. We appreciate the public reporting issues to us and supporting the police in keeping the city centre safe. 43 Community protection warnings/notices have been issued over the past year having a direct impact on the issues and individuals, with multiple (CBO'S) criminal behaviour orders issued preventing some individuals from entering the city centre. We continue to tackle these issues going into the summer months and promote and safe environment.
