VAWG Safety at AFC Wimbledon |
||
|
Hello All,
As the football season draws to a close, I wanted to share an update and reflect on some of the positive work that myself and a colleague have been carrying out locally in partnership with AFC Wimbledon around Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).
Throughout the season, we have worked with the club to raise awareness, challenge harmful attitudes and behaviours, and promote respect both on and off the pitch. Using the strong influence and reach of a local football club has allowed us to engage with a wide range of people in our community in a constructive and meaningful way.
While the season may be ending, our commitment to tackling VAWG certainly is not. We will continue this important work locally and will be maintaining ongoing patrols and engagement, particularly during upcoming World Cup football, when increased footfall and social gatherings can bring additional safeguarding considerations.
Our priority remains ensuring that everyone in our ward feels safe, supported, and confident to report concerns or seek help. We will continue to work with partners and the community to prevent VAWG and respond robustly to any issues. If you would like more information about this work or need advice or support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your continued support
