Update from your local beat officers!

Good evening Resident

Your local beat officers have been busy over the last month or so, targeting the issues that you have raised to us as well as engaging in public events.

Over the past month, your local beat officers have arrested 13 people for a variety offences ranging from public order, theft, criminal damage and anti-social behaviour. One person was issued with a Public Space Protection Notice for drinking on the high street, a £70 fine was issued - the same person was issued with a Community Protection Warning Notice due to their drunken behaviour and disturbances caused on the high street. 

Multiple traffic offence reports have been issued to drivers on the high street that were causing a nuisance. On Saturday 18th April officers seized an illegal road bike on Rochester High Street and prosecuted the rider for driving with no insurance, driving without a license totalling over £400 and over 6 points. The rider was also issued with a Public Space Protection Notice which was a £70 for riding anti-socially. Alongside this E-scooters have also been seized from the streets this month. Each person that had a vehicle seized or was driving anti-socially was issued with a S59 Warning Notice - if the person gets 2 of these the police can seized their vehicle. 

11 people have been stopped and searched, 3 community resolutions have been issued and 1 person has been charged for possession of Cannabis.

Your local officers also ran a very successful phone marking event at the Farmers Market which saw 100s people attend, 130 phones marked, multiple intelligence reports gathered and as well as listening to your local concerns. 

We worked in partnership with Safer Medway Partnership and a Catastrophic Bleeds Course was ran for those that work during night time economy. This gave specialised training to those that may need it, so that they can deal with a major incident. 

Even though you may not always see us, just know we are always working hard and trying our best!
