🚸 School Parking Safety – Forest Beat 🚸

If you live on the #ForestBeat and have a child in school you may find this flyer coming home with your child alongside their school newsletter.

School parking is an issue across North West Leicestershire. While the majority of parents and carers park considerately, we know that some schools experience ongoing problems, particularly during drop‑off and pick‑up times.

Parking on zig‑zag lines, double yellow lines, or near junctions can seriously restrict visibility, cause obstruction for residents, and most importantly put children at risk.

Over the coming weeks, we will be attending school locations alongside Civil Enforcement Officers on various dates. These visits will focus on: ✅ Improving safety around school gates
✅ Addressing unsafe or obstructive parking
✅ Supporting schools, parents, and local residents

We ask parents and carers to please: • Allow a little extra time for the school run
• Park legally and considerately
• Where possible, park a short distance away and walk the last part of the journey

By working together, we can help keep our school communities safe for everyone.
