**Update following Anti-social Behaviour in Bakewell** |
||
|
Officers from Bakewell and Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Teams have been busy over the last couple of weeks identifying youths involved in anti-social behaviour around the area of Park Road, Bakewell and Rutland Recreation Ground. As a result of this 11 youths have been spoken to, parents made aware and 9 of the youths have been issued with anti-social behaviour warning letters.
The anti-social behaviour letters are the first stage in the anti-social behaviour process. It makes parents aware of their childs' behaviour and requests that they work together with police to correct any adverse behaviours to avoid their son / daughter being criminalised.
We thank members of the public for reporting via the correct channels, parents for being on board helping with this process and kids who all engaged really well.
Following on from this we have also been made aware of a group of youths playing 'knock-a-door-run'. Although some may think this is a trivial matter or just kids having fun, it isn't for the occupiers of the house repeatedly targeted. PCSO Radcliffe has engaged with several youths and explained how this behaviour is not acceptable, can be frightening for residents at the address, especially if the are elderly or struggling with their mental health. We have not been able to identify the youths involved on this occasion so haven't been able to take any further action other than community engagement and patrols in the area. Parents - please have a chat with your kids re this and why they shouldn't do it. If we receive further reports in the future, those involved will be dealt with appropriately.
How do I report anti-social behaviour? ☎️ If it is in progress ring police via 101 or report on live chat on Derbyshire Constabulary website https://www.derbyshire.police.uk/
The Community Safety Partnership hold regular anti-social behaviour meetings which are attended by police, Platform Housing and the council in order that the issue can be tackled as a multi-agency response. If the anti-social behaviour affects numerous people, all affected parties should report.
Failure to report through the correct channels could result in a delayed response as reported incidents will take priority.
