Hot Weather Reminder - Keeping Your Home and Property Secure |
||
|
Good afternoon,
This is your local PCSO from the Richmond Safer Neighbourhood Team.
With the warmer weather we’re seeing more people out enjoying the local area, and I wanted to share a quick reminder around staying safe and keeping your property secure.
While Richmond remains a safe place to live, we do see an increase in opportunistic offences during hot weather, particularly where windows or doors are left open, or valuables are left unattended in gardens, parks, or vehicles.
We would encourage residents to: - Ensure doors and windows are secure when leaving your property or going to bed - Avoid leaving valuables (including bikes, phones, and bags) unattended outdoors - Double-check vehicles are locked and nothing is left on display - Keep an eye out for neighbours, especially those who may be away
You may see us out on foot patrol in the area—please feel free to stop and speak with us. Your feedback helps us focus on what matters most to the community.
If you notice anything suspicious, please report it via 101 or online. In an emergency, always dial 999.
Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine.
