Community Crime Prevention Patrols in DronfieldLast night, officers from the Dronfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by the Derbyshire Police Cadets, were out across the Dronfield area carrying out proactive crime prevention patrols. These patrols focused on helping residents keep their homes and vehicles safe, raising awareness of simple but effective crime‑prevention measures, and reducing opportunities for offending within our community. By being visible and engaging with residents, the team aimed to offer reassurance and practical advice to help prevent people from becoming victims of crime. During the evening, approximately 730 properties were visited. Officers and cadets also identified over 60 vehicles that had been left unlocked or otherwise insecure. Where possible, friendly advice and reminders were provided to residents to help improve security and reduce risk. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with officers and cadets, and for the positive and supportive response we received. A special thank you also goes to the Derbyshire Police Cadets, who volunteered their time and played a valuable role in engaging with the community. Simple Crime Prevention TipsTaking a few small steps can make a big difference: By reducing opportunities for crime, we can work together to keep Dronfield a safe place for everyone. Thank you for your continued support.
