Community Protection Warnings and Criminal Behaviour Orders |
||
|
Good evening Resident,
This message is to share with you some positive action the neighbourhood team has taken in Aston over the past couple of days.
A Community Protection Warning (CPW) has been issued on an individual engaging in aggressive begging, and anti-social behaviour outside ST CHAD'S CATHEDRAL and at the traffic lights on ST CHAD'S QUEENSWAY in ASTON.
A Community Protection Warning is served with the intention of reducing anti-social behaviour and preventing crime to make a safer community. Breaches of CPWs can result in Community Protection Notices (CPNs), which provide police and courts further enforcement powers.
Furthermore, a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) has been served on an offender, who has been involved in a number of vehicle related crimes and burglaries in the area of Aston Lane, as well as aggressive begging outside of TESCO, Aston Lane. He has been remanded in custody after being charged with 4 offences.
CBOs allow police to specify actions an individual must stop doing, or conditions they must comply with. This also allows officers to suggest exclusion zones, to prevent them from engaging in anti-social behaviour and take enforcement action, should there be any breaches of the order.
Please remember to stay safe, and if you have any concerns, contact 999 in an emergency, 101 in a non emergency, or join us at our next community meeting, and meet the team.
Kindest regards,
Aston Neighbourhood Team. | ||
