Keeping an Eye on Vulnerable Homes |
||
|
As I stated last week, this was going to be a short week out and about with the community. I have training for the rest of the set and annual leave. The training is, officer safety training which includes the fitness test. This is a great course run by the trainers, they have great knowledge and passion for the work. This week I have conducted a joint visit with community housing, this was for support in an area with rising issues. We were able to talk about future action and cooperative working. I have also visited vulnerable addresses in our community. If you have an empty house near to you then keep an eye out and report any suspicious activity, especially if it is empty with a sold sign outside. Call 101 or 999.
I will be back on duty on Tuesday 5th May 2026 so you won’t hear from me for a little while. If you reply to this message a member of the team will still see and reply if required. But look after yourselves over the weekend and bank holiday, I will see you when I’m back.
Fun facts for this week. Police fitness test The modern UK police fitness test became an official, nationally standardised requirement in the early 2010s In the 1800s–1900s forces used Height & weight checks (not real fitness tests), changing in the Mid to late 20th century to local physical assessments.
Today is Earth Day. Earth Day takes place on April 22, with the theme "Our Power, Our Planet". This global event focuses on leveraging individual and collective action to drive local solutions, clean energy adoption, and environmental protection. This began in 1970. | ||
