Dear Resident,

We have been made aware of a number of burglaries that have recently occurred in the area of Harmer Hill, Wem over the last couple of weeks. these have occurred through the day where a entrance has been gained through glass doors or windows.

Police are conducting a number of patrols in the area.

Tips to consider

If you are installing new doors and windows, get ones that are certified to the British standard.

Securely lock all doors and windows before leaving the house

never leave keys anywhere near the front door or letterbox

fit padlocks and hardware to sheds and garage doors

security lights can be used to make offenders feel vulnerable and observed.

visible burglary alarms and CCTV are a deterrent

work with your neighbours to keep an eye on each others security
