Nuisance Bikes causing disruption in Corporation Park - SIEZED

Yesterday’s sunshine brought out so many people and families enjoying Corporation Park, and it was genuinely great to see the space being used as it should be. I had the chance to speak with lots of parkgoers, and one concern came up repeatedly; off‑road bikes being ridden through the park, damaging the grass and dangerously passing close to people simply trying to enjoy a peaceful day.

By chance, a pair of these bikes passed close by while I was walking through the park myself, and I completely shared the frustration that many of you expressed.

Normally, riders will quickly leave the area when they spot police, often disappearing before any action can be taken. On this occasion, however, their behaviour continued within the park.

As your local PCSO, and someone who knows Corporation Park very well, I was able to use that local knowledge to take a quieter route and intercept the riders while they were briefly stopped.

Unfortunately, one bike did manage to get away on this occasion — but efforts to locate it will continue. The second bike was not so lucky and has now been seized. Details of those involved have been obtained, and they will be dealt with robustly and appropriately by the police.

I completely understand the frustration and impact that antisocial behaviour has on the community. Please be assured that I will continue to do everything I can to reduce this behaviour and keep your local spaces safe and enjoyable for everyone.
