Nuisance Motorbikes / E-Bikes |
||
|
You may be aware that recently we have seen an increase in illegal nuisance motorbike and/or E-Bikes in the Sandiacre and surrounding area. I have been made aware by a few people I have spoken to that there may be a general feeling in the community that it is not worth reporting as 'nothing will be done'.
Can I assure you that we are committed to resolving this difficult issue and will investigate where we have available lines of enquiry regarding the potential riders such as CCTV images, potential suspects etc. however identification can be difficult when bikes have no VRM (number plates) and riders often have faces covered therefore resolution is not always as timely as we would like.
Could I just remind you that if you do see nuisance illegal bikes in the area that this should always be reported to 101 (or 999 if there is an immediate risk and the riders are still on scene). This will be a great help as it will not only allow us to respond when officers are available but will also allow follow up lines of inquiry. It also helps us assess the scale of the issue which can be seen when reviewing the number of calls to service and this allows resources to be allocated appropriately.
I attach a photograph of a few of the social media posts we have put out over the last few months where we have seized illegal nuisance bikes and motorbikes in the area. This is only possible with the help of the community in reporting incidents due to the reporting of incidents
