What your neighbourhood team has been up to last week

Over the past week, officers have been actively working across the area to tackle crime, protect vulnerable people, and respond to concerns raised by the community.

🛍️ Shoplifting investigation
A shoplifting offence reported in the Blackwood area was investigated by officers. Enquiries led to the offender being identified, arrested, and subsequently charged.

🤝 Community engagement & reassurance
Local PCSOs were deployed at Sainsbury’s, Pontllanfraith, where they carried out Neighbourhood Alert sign‑ups and engaged with shoppers and staff, offering reassurance and crime prevention advice.

🚔 Proactive patrols & stop searches
Proactive patrols across the area resulted in a number of stop searches, during which drugs and a bladed article were recovered and taken off the streets. One offender was arrested and charged as a result of this activity.

🚫 Anti-social behaviour patrols
Officers have been conducting targeted patrols in Newbridge following concerns around anti-social behaviour, providing reassurance to residents and addressing issues directly.
