Violence against women and girls. |

Good Afternoon Resident
Today I visited Wrotham Secondary School to deliver two assemblies, one for Year 11 and one for Year 10 students. Both sessions focused on the topic of violence against women and girls. This is an important area to talk about, particularly as it features regularly in the media and forms part of wider conversations around respect, behaviour, and personal safety. During the assemblies, I emphasised that people of all genders can be victims of crime, and that the sessions were not about placing blame or singling anyone out. Instead, we looked at the types of offences where women are more likely to be affected, explored some of the reasons behind this, and discussed how everyone can play a positive role in challenging harmful behaviour and helping others feel safer. I hope the students left with a better understanding of the issues, increased awareness, and the confidence to speak up or take action if they see behaviour that isn’t right.
Have a great day Olivia
