Here is your weekly round up from St Michael's Team 1
Firstly, St Michael's Team 1 would like to congratulate Coventry City Football Club on their return to the Premier League after 25 years
PUSB!!!
There have been many fans in the City Centre celebrating the return over the weekend and St Michael's Officers have worked hard to ensure this has been done safely in order for everyone to enjoy themselves and for others to continue their daily business. We would like to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly and to not commit any offences which would see anyone's celebration abruptly cut short.
The Coventry Half Marathon returned today, and it was lovely to see such a great turn out by both participants and observers. Thank you to our partners for organising the event and keeping everyone safe during the event.
St Michael's officers have continued to issue civil interventions this week to our prolific offenders within the City Centre in order to limit their activity within the Ring Road.
we have continued to make arrests, patrol the City Centre and attend community engagements in order to safeguard members of the public when they attend the City Centre.
St Michael's Officers have continued to have a visible presence in Lady Herbert's Gardens this week and have liaised with anyone found rough sleeping in this location. Officers have signposted all those encountered and offered support to them. If you encounter anyone sleeping rough, you can report this to Coventry City Council via the following link;
StreetLink - Connecting people sleeping rough to local services
A number of bicycles have been reported stolen over the past weeks within Coventry City Centre. In order to prevent becoming a victim of crime, we would advise using D-Locks to secure your bicycle within Coventry City Centre due to them being more difficult to remove than cable locks. If possible please use 2 to secure both the front and rear of the bicycle.
You can register your bikes here for free at The National Cycle Database | BikeRegister this will allow you to upload images of your bicycle including damage / distinguishing marks and your frame number. This will increase the chances of having your bike returned to you if stolen.
Anti-Social Behaviour continues to be a priority for West Midlands police. We ask that members of the public report Anti-Social Behaviour to us in order for us to be able to tackle it effectively. No one should be subject to this kind of behaviour, and no one should have their daily lives affected by it. We will work with partner agencies and internal departments in order to protect yourselves, however we need reports to come to us in order for us to tackle ASB effectively.
You can make contact with West Midlands Police in the following ways;
