Off-road bike seized

Dear residents of Barton Ward,

PCs 15920 Allen and 13449 James worked with PCSOs today in attempts to tackle persons using motorbikes unlawfully. We are very much aware of the ongoing problems, mostly with those who choose to use their unregistered motorbikes on roads and footpaths in a careless manner.

Today we tried a new, innovative tactic with the use of a stinger. A rider was seen bombing down Chaucer Road, Canterbury, towards a hole in the fence into Chequers Woods. We were inside that entrance, hiding and watching. The stinger was deployed in front of him causing him to stop and he was promptly removed from his motorbike. His bike has been seized and he was reported for summons for the relevant offences.
