Rushcliffe News over the last week |

Throughout the last week our officers have been carrying out patrols, investigating crime and attending community meetings across the Borough.
Thursday saw a massive influx of Police Constables into the sporting quarter of West Bridgford for the Nottingham Forest Vs Porto Europa League quarter final match, this included several officers from Cotgrave and West Bridgford they were joined by officers from across Nottinghamshire and also officers from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, West Midlands and mounted officers from Lancashire.
For the rest of the team it was business as usual in the towns and villages which included attending beat surgeries and local councils meetings in Bingham on Thursday. On Wednesday officers recovered a stolen Motorhome from Orston which had been reported as abandoned by a local resident, this vehicle was also stolen in Lincolnshire like the one recovered by officers from East Bridgford last week.
During the day on Thursday away from West Bridgford officers attended Shelford for speeding patrols and Orston due to a report of a suspicious pick-up truck which was displaying the wrong vehicle registration mark and turned out to have been stolen from Lincolnshire 5 days before.
Friday evening saw an electric motorcycle seized from Newton after two males were seen trying to break into houses which are under construction in Newton. Suspects fled the scene on the electric motorcycle which was then found abandoned a short distance away. On Saturday evening officers attended the building site between Hollygate Lane and Colston Gate in Cotgrave due to trespass on the site and damage to safety equipment. New build houses across the area have previously been targeted by those stealing metal, gas boilers and other building materials during the construction phase of house building. We have also had reports of trespass on site and anti-social behaviour targeting sales and security staff. Building sites can be dangerous so a reminder to anyone thinking of entering them that there are dangers you might not be aware of and also to parents to warn children that building sites are not playgrounds.
Since Wednesday 15th of April Nottinghamshire Police have with other agencies been supporting Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service at the scene of a fire near Sutton Bonnington the emergency services and other agencies will be in attendance until at least Monday while the scene is made safe and is examined by fire investigation staff.
