|
On Thursday 19 March 2026, police officers on routine patrol in Fairlop Waters Country Park became suspicious of a vehicle parked at the side of the entrance to the car park.
As officers approached, the occupant appeared nervous and behaved in a manner that raised further suspicion. Officers noticed a self‑sealed bag containing white powder in the centre console of the vehicle. A search was carried out under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a black bag containing over £300 in cash, 12 wraps of white powder, and seven self‑sealed bags of white powder. Officers also located two mobile phones that were continuously ringing, raising concerns about drug supply activity.
The individual was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Further enquiries led officers to conduct a Section 18 search at the individual’s home address, where three additional mobile phones were recovered. The arrest and seizures form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply and protect communities.
