Arrest News

At around 7.30pm on Wednesday 15th April ward officers attended an urgent call on the Westminster Cathedral Piazza. A male had assaulted a female who was engaged in outreach work with the local homeless community. 

The male was swiftly arrested, taken to Charing Cross Police Station and charged with common assault. Under the terms of his bail conditions, he is not allowed on or near the Piazza until his court appearance. If convicted the ward team will be seeking a Criminal Behaviour Order for the individual to help us manage the risks associated with his behaviour and prevent him re-offending in our area.

The ward team and our partner agencies are sharpening our focus on the area around the Cathedral as warmer weather and longer evenings approach. We are determined to respond swiftly and decisively to criminality and anti-social behaviour in this crucial part of the ward.
