Eden Square, Urmston

Over the last few weeks you will be aware of the issues around Eden Square. Which has also gained traction on the MEN News. 

In regards to our response. Over the last week. We have as a neighbourhood, been out in plain clothes with a view of interacting with the youths. Both to engage, educate and enforce. 

There was a dispersal order granted over the weekend of the 10th April. This is being reviewed as to whether it is needed over the coming weekends. 

During our weeks operations we have identified numerous youths who either have been spoken to or will be so. They will be signing Acceptable Behaviour Contracts in order to keep them out of Eden Square and to recognise how their behaviour has made the community feel. 

We have arrested one youth who caused damage and stole items from a premises. This youth is on bail with conditions to stay away from Eden Square whilst we resolve this investigation. 

Officers have also seized three electric scooters/bikes from youths who were using these illegally in the area. 

Whilst we have been proactive and had some positive results. Resources will still be in this area to enact of any other groups who see Eden Square as a place to congregate and cause issues for the local community.
