Meeting with Police (Community Engagement)

We held a meeting in South Farnborough yesterday with Mark Overd from the Police and some of our coordinators.  The idea being to discuss ways in which we can improve the way Neighbourhood Watch works plus how to link with the police team more usefully via' meet ups' to talk about local issues, information provision etc.

He is happy to extend this to other areas of Farnborough if people are interested.

Current Community communication and schemes

How local communities keep in touch has changed a lot over the years.  Going back to the ‘old days’  the schemes were mainly set up by the Police and communication from them was generally via e-mail.  Now many communities have set up their own WhatsApp groups or Facebook pages an addition to the Alert system, often with a coordinator only having themselves or one or two registered on the system.

It would be very useful to find out more about how coordinators work now days.  Could you kindly answer a few questions please?

Speed Watch

Finally, we used to have a speed watch team(s) in Farnborough.  Might you are your members be interested in helping out from time to time with a watch.
