Joint Operation – Ilford Town Ward.

On 15th April 2026, officers from the Ilford Town Ward conducted a joint operation alongside partners including Transport for London, Immigration Enforcement, and Roads Policing officers. The operation took place on Winston Way.

During the operation, multiple vehicles were stopped and subjected to checks to ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Act 1988. These checks included verification of valid insurance, MOT status, driving licences, and identification of any other relevant offences.

The operation proved to be highly successful, with robust enforcement action taken. A number of vehicles were seized, including cars, vans, motorbikes, mopeds, and e-bikes, for various offences.

Notably, 22 vehicles were identified as non-compliant while operating as taxis, and appropriate action was taken.

This joint working highlights the effectiveness of partnership collaboration in tackling illegal activity, improving road safety, and addressing community concerns around unlawful vehicle use.

Ilford Town Ward officers will continue to work closely with partner agencies to carry out proactive operations aimed at keeping the roads safe and disrupting criminality.
