Tackling Vehicle Crime |
On Tuesday I had the pleasure of informing attendees of this years annual parish meeting of Studley that vehicle crime over the last year has fallen dramatically across Sambourne, Mappleborough and Studley, compared to the previous 12 months. In fact, theft from motor vehicles and theft of motor vehicles fell by nearly 50%. Furthermore, residential burglaries also fell by nearly 50%.
Vehicle crime and residential burglaries were a local priority in the Alcester North region for most of last year so we are very pleased to see these great results. Our local team is still committed to contacting every victim of vehicle theft in person.
Whist our team would love to take all the credit, I must make you aware of the hard work, long hours and collaboration of officers on specialist teams who deserve the recognition for our favourable crime trends, which is being felt across the region. Last year I made you aware that evidence led policing resulting in over a dozen males arrested for stealing cars. The police work continued and now they have secured further prison sentences, keeping these prolific offenders off our streets.
