Burglary Alert

Dear Leyton Members

I’m writing to let you know of two recent burglaries last weekend by a violent intruder at two addresses in Thornhill and Wilmot area.

The incidents occurred at 3am on Friday night and the burglar gained entry to the homes and threatened the occupants.

Police are investigating but I would ask you to let everyone on your scheme and WhatsApp groups know about it please.

The main advice is to be vigilant and consider a few simple measures to protect your home.

Residents should take extra precautions by leaving a light on inside the house at night (as well as during the day) whether they are in or out. 

Also consider installing cctv or doorbell cameras as well as porch and garden lighting.

Obviously keep windows and doors locked as well.

The individual in question is bearded and wears a hoodie so there’s not a lot to go on so far.
