Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event in Hadfield today
Glossop SNT (PCSO Buller) and 2 volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event at Newshaw Lane, Hadfield this morning, Wednesday April 15th - between 11.00 am and 12.00 pm.
The speed limit on this road is 30 mph. During the event the number of vehicles who went by the team in the hour was 165 of those only 1 was recorded driving above 35 mph. recorded at 37mph.
This location had been identified by residents in Hadfield as one of their Policing Priorities and reported by the community as a high-risk road through speeding.
Policing isn’t just about tickets, it’s also about education and community involvement, and these speed sites encompass the two. Speeding… it’s a hot topic that regularly comes up in our comments section. In addition, speeding is constantly an issue that communities in Derbyshire highlight as being a significant problem and one they wish to see action taken. That’s why our groups target those areas which have been reported by the community as high-risk roads.
We'd like to say thank you to the community in Hadfield for their help in identifying their concerns re speeding in the Hadfield area and for their support in promoting road safety within our area.
Also a thank you and well done from Glossop SNT to the 2 volunteers who took part in the event today.
