Technology assisted care |

This is a message from Hertfordshire County Council
There are lots of ways care technology can help. This could be from simple medication reminder alerts, to getting vital help if there is a fall. Care or assistive technology helps people to live at home more safely and to stay independent, giving reassurance to family and carers. The technology can be single stand-alone items, if that’s what’s needed, such as the medication reminders mentioned above. Other options include a personal alarm system with a pendant or wrist strap, linked to a monitoring centre, such as Herts Careline, for help in an emergency, or our preventive service, Data Inspired Living. Some technology can be linked, if permission is given, with family or carers and/or connected to advisors in a monitoring centre. This way you know that the kettle has been switched on around the usual time each morning, for example. There could also be an alert if usual pattern isn’t followed. Be assured that Data Inspired Living sensors do not record video or sound. Care technology can be purchased independently from a specialist shop or online website. Costs vary and can be one off or might include a monthly payment and sometimes an installation charge. For types of technology see www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/assistivetechnology. Care technology may be provided as part of a social care plan where appropriate through our partners Data Inspired Living. If social care help from us might be needed visit www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/adults or call 0300 123 4042. Sheila Samson-Bunce Work pattern Tuesday - Thursday | ||

Be reassured that someone you care about is safe and well while living independently.
