Offender arrested and charged

While on patrol last night (Monday), the Ashton Hurst policing team stopped a man who was sitting at the bus stop near Broadoak Crescent acting suspiciously.

PCSO Brockett noticed the man appeared to discard something when he saw the police car. The team stopped to speak with him, and PCSO Brockett spotted three snap bags containing drugs that he had attempted to hide. A further snap bag of drugs was found behind the bus stop, which the man had also tried to discard.

He was additionally found to be in possession of several bottles of alcohol, some of which still had security tags attached.

The man was arrested by PC Howe on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs and handling stolen goods.

Dalton Dunkerley, born 01/08/1991, has now been charged with three offences and has been given a court date to attend.
