Dear Resident,
For the first three months of this year your Peterborough South Neighbourhood Policing Team have been busily working on their priorities.
The first area they looked at was vehicle theft and associated anti-social behaviour in Hampton and Haddon. Officers conducted patrols in identified hotspot areas and spoke to people believed to be involved. This disruption led to thefts more than halving compared to the previous quarter.
Speeding in Sugar Way was another issue local residents highlighted to us. Multiple speed checks have been conducted and a mobile camera was also deployed to Oundle Road. This has led to a significant reduction in calls for service concerning the issue.
The third area the team looked at was thefts from shops in the Ortons. High visibility patrols and engagement with businesses were key tactics.
When conducting additional work looking at crime reports, officers identified suspects and four investigations have been re-opened due to further lines of enquiry being identified.
Four people have also been issued with exclusion notices from Orton Centre following their behaviour.
The team’s new priorities for April-June include: • Anti-social use of motorcycles and scooters – Herlington Centre, Orton • Anti-social parking issues – Fletton/Woodston • Anti-social behaviour – Hampton In June we will be holding a quarterly priority meeting where you can raise any ongoing concerns and help influence the issues the team focuses on. The date will be sent out via this email system – it’d be great to see you there.
