|
Dear Resident
Please be aware that police have received a report of a prowler at an address on Station Road Tring yesterday morning, (13th April), at around 0945am. The male has been seen walking around the rear of the property before being challenged by the homeowner after this male has gone to the front of the house and opened the front door. He is described to be in his 50s with tanned complexion and greyish white facial hair, wearing a blue baseball cap, a dark blue padded jacket, black hooded top with white lining, black jogging trousers, and dark blue trainers. The male claimed to be looking for the station and was directed towards Tring train station by the homeowner. We are unsure of the males’ motives currently and keen to speak with the male to reassure the homeowner. If you see anyone matching this description in the area of Station Road or around Tring then please call police on 999 quoting crime reference number 41/33865/26.

Tips to prevent burglary:
Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features. Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place. Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home. Use laminate glass where possible for any rear doors or windows. If this is not practicable, consider the use of security film over existing windows. Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home. Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera, or a monitored burglar alarm. Consider adding trellis to any side or rear boundaries to add extra height up to a maximum of 2 metres.
Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area. If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.
