E-bike and E-scooter operation - Op Veyvah

On Thursday 26th March 2026, officers went out in Croydon Town Centre to tackle illegal e-bikes and e-scooters. This is part of an ongoing operation called Op Veyvah which aims to disrupt these illegally modified vehicles and any associated crime.

The operation was a success with 12 seizures of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters. One bike was illegally modified to have eight times the legal motor power output with a top speed of 84mph and no working brakes! The riders themselves were processed for a range of offences such as driving with no insurance or driving not in accordance with a licence. As well as processing offenders for traffic offences, an arrest was made and the individual was taken to custody.
