✅ Community Update – Cable Street
Local residents and businesses shared concerns about tents on the highway, obstruction, mess and ASB on Cable Street. In response, GMP has been working closely with partners to listen, engage and find solutions.
Our Street Engagement Team has carried out ongoing face‑to‑face engagement, offering support and pathways off the street. This approach has helped reduce the number of tents from around 30 to just 2.
We continue to work with the remaining occupants, focusing on support, safeguarding and long‑term solutions, while addressing community concerns and keeping the area safe and accessible.
