Parking Concerns – Chesterfield Road, Pleasley |
||
|
Yesterday, officers from the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team received multiple reports regarding unsafe and inconsiderate parking along Chesterfield Road, Pleasley. The photo attached to this post was taken after approximately 20 cars were moved from causing obstructions.
We would like to remind all residents and road users of the importance of parking safely and legally. Parking opposite a solid white line is dangerous and is generally prohibited, as it forces oncoming traffic to cross the line, posing a significant risk to road safety. It also prevents access for emergency services and may result in enforcement action.
Under the Highway Code, you must not park where a solid white line would require other vehicles to cross it, particularly on bends, the brow of a hill, or on narrow roads.
🚗 Obstruction: Parking must not force other vehicles to cross a solid white line. Doing so creates a serious safety hazard.
We urge all motorists to park considerately and lawfully to ensure the safety of residents, pedestrians, and other road users . Thank you for your cooperation.
