๐ Riverside Beat โ Weekly Update ๐
Itโs been another busy week for Riverside officers and PCSOs, working across the beat to keep our communities safe, supported and informed.
๐ Night Time Economy Patrols Riverside Officers were deployed within the city centre night time economy, responding to incidents and proactively tackling violence and anti social behaviour. This ongoing initiative supports a safe, vibrant and secure nightlife for everyone enjoying the city after dark.
PC Fabian was also busy progressing a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), working closely with housing officers linked to an address on the beat, with a plan put in place to resolve ongoing ASB issues.
๐ก๏ธ Safeguarding & Exploitation Concerns โ Partnership Working Riverside officers attended an address on the beat alongside partner agencies, including Immigration Enforcement, to address safeguarding and potential exploitation concerns. Appropriate actions were taken to safeguard those involved.
๐ฎโโ๏ธ High Visibility Proactive Patrols Officers and PCSOs carried out reassurance patrols across DMU, LRI, Mandela Park, Welford Road and Castle Gardens, engaging with local businesses and community spaces and listening to any concerns raised.
๐ Student Engagement at DMU Jess and V spent time at De Montfort University Library, supporting students ahead of exam season. Conversations focused on personal safety, wellbeing, and encouraging sign ups to Neighbourhood Link so students can stay informed with local updates โ
๐ Road Safety & Local Issues Phil and V assisted at a road traffic collision on Welford Road, as well as responding to additional RTCs during the week. They also dealt with reports of graffiti and recovered an abandoned vehicle blocking a pedestrian footpath after checks showed it had no tax or insurance.
๐ฒ Bike Register LRI โ Dr Bike V and Fabian supported a Dr Bike partnership event at LRI, offering free bike safety checks, minor repairs and secure bike registration on the National Cycle Database ๐ดโโ๏ธ This helps prevent cycle crime and improves the chances of recovery if a bike is stolen.
๐ If you have concerns or would like to speak to your local Riverside beat team, please get in touch. Weโre always happy to help.
