Closure order of drug address

Hello Barnsbury residents,

After receiving numerous reports from local residents that one particular address in a block of flats was causing multiple problems, mainly drug related, Barnsbury SNT teamed up with the local Housing Authority to address the issue.

It became clear that in spite of numerous warnings, the person registered at the flat was not going to change their behaviour, and there were still non-residents coming to the flat at all hours, buzzing other people's flats to get into the building, causing ASB and damage, and sleeping on the communal stairs.

These decisions are never taken lightly, but it became clear that the only solution would be to obtain a Court Order to repossess the property.

A possession order was imposed in March by the Housing and local Police, finally bringing peace back to the other residents in the block.
