Dear Resident
Officers from the Neighbourhoods team are aware there are several images circulating on social media of a male on the Thorplands Estate going around on an electric scooter looking into vehicles using a torch. Over the last few days several crimes have been reported regarding theft from motor vehicles.
If you’ve been a victim of crime Have you reported it? Do you have CCTV of the offender? Do you know who the offender is? Do you know where they live & and who they associate with?
Officers believe the male Captured on social media may have information that could assist with their enquiries. He or anyone who recognises him is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 www.crimestoppers-uk.org
Reports can also be submitted online at www.northants.police.uk/RO
Please quote incident number 26000204997 when providing any information to ensure it reaches the correct team as quickly as possible.
In an emergency when there is a crime in progress or a life at risk always call 999.
There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle: Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road. Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible Never leave anything on display in your car. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle will usually exceed the value of the theft Drivers of some Toyota and Honda vehicles and some 4 x 4’s should install measures to deter theft of catalytic converts e.g Catloc | Catalytic Convertor Theft Protection Lock your vehicle every time you leave it, even for a short period Check windows are fully closed Do not leave keys inside the vehicle Consider security measures such as steering wheel locks, alarms, and dashcams Report suspicious activity immediately via 101 or 999 in an emergency
