When to call 101 or 999

Good Morning

For those that are unsure -  in which situations should you call 101 or 999?

Call 101 for non-emergency enquiries such as reporting a crime that is not in progress, asking for updates or general police enquiries.

Call 999 if you are in an emergency situation, such as:

-A crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger, someone is suspected of a crime and is nearby. 

-There is a threat to life or violence is being used or threatened.

-A road traffic collision where life is at risk, or the road is blocked.
