Cash point/parking distraction thefts

Good afternoon, 

We have had a couple of reports of distraction theft offences at cash point/parking machines whereby unknown persons have approached members of the public and offered to “help” as there is a problem with the machine. They may ask you to reinsert another card and renter your pin or state you can't use your parking card and you have to use a bank card.

This has occurred predominantly early afternoon around Kew Village. Descriptions have varied but often male, mid wearing a “Covid” type mask, wearing a baseball or other type of hat, sometimes fairly smart trousers and a smartish jacket or jeans and a “puffa” style coat. 

If anyone approaches you at a cash point or parking machine and offers to “help”, please try to move away with all your belongings,do not engage and if possible contact police at the time via 999
