Man charged with offences including attempting to meet with a child following grooming

A 57-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences, including attempting to meet with a child following grooming in Woodbridge.

Police were called to Ferry Quay in Woodbridge just after 10am yesterday, Thursday 9 April, following allegations made by members of the public.

Officers arrested John Dunne, of Lloyd Road in Melton, who has subsequently been charged with the following offences:

Attempting to meet a boy under 16 years of age following grooming

Facilitating the commission of a sexual assault of a child

Criminal damage

Three counts of assault by beating

Dunne has been remanded in custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Saturday 11 April.
