Dear Resident
Over 100 penalty points issued following road safety operation in Hipperholme & Lightcliffe Ward
On Thursday 9th April, officers from the T3 Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a road safety operation in response to community concerns about Road Safety and to support the Lower Valley Safer, Cleaner, Greener priority. During the operation officers issued: • 15 TORs (Traffic Offence Reports) for mobile phone use while driving • 1 summons for mobile phone use while driving • 3 reports for “Fail to Furnish Details” after drivers failed to stop
Mobile phone use while driving is one of the Fatal 5 offences known to contribute to serious and fatal collisions. Tackling this behaviour remains a key priority for the team.
Once the “fail to furnish” cases are completed, this operation will have resulted in over 100 penalty points being placed on offending drivers.
Thank you to local residents for continuing to raise concerns—we’re committed to keeping our roads safer for everyone.
