Community Update: E-bike Use & Anti-Social Behaviour

Good Afternoon,

We heard your concerns on In The Know about anti-social behaviour in Skelmersdale and the use of electric bikes.

In response, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been conducting patrols in key areas, and have recently seized an E-bike under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

We would like to remind residents that E-bikes should only be used on private land with the land owners permission. They are not permitted on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes, car parks or other public spaces. The use of such bikes in public areas can cause alarm and distress to others and may pose a risk of injury to both riders and pedestrians.

We will continue to act on community concerns and support public safety.
