Scam/Fraud - Please Be Aware

Dear All,

Information has come to SNT attention regarding a fraud/scam taking place within the E12 area.

Elderly drivers have been flashed down by a following vehicle and told they have gone through a new CCTV camera and face receiving a notice of a £60 fine. 

They are then offered the option of paying £1 cash to avoid this and are offered the chance to pay it there and then.

They are then accompanied to a cash machine where their card details are  recorded and/or the card is “lost”.

The target group - elderly - can easily become confused by the whole situation - being told they have violated a traffic camera, will be fined £60 - and in the initial confusion give away details making themselves vulnerable to further fraud.

If any of you are stopped in similar circumstances then drive on -  if you get the chance and can give the VRM and/or description then either call the police or report online.
