I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. As you will be aware, emergency services were called to Lord Warwick Street, SE18 at around 3.40pm on Thursday 2nd April following reports of a shooting, where sadly a 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are working tirelessly to investigate this incident and bring those responsible to justice. There will also be an increased presence of officers across the Woolwich Dockyard ward and wider area.
We urge anyone with any information or footage to contact us on 101, quoting CAD 4848/02APR, or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Understandably, this will be a major cause for concern within the community and how you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe going forward.
Our partners in the local authority will also be in the area to support the community. If you want to speak with us regarding any concerns, you can contact us on here, or email the team at: Woolwichdockyard.SNT@met.police.uk
Kind regards,
